The ProAves Reserve “El Paujil” is located in the Serranía de las Quinchas, between the municipalities of Puerto Boyacá, Bolívar and Cimitarra, in the departments of Boyacá and Santander.
In the ProAves Reserve “El Paujil” you can make a connection with nature and its multiplicity of wonderful species of flora and fauna. In addition, this conservation sanctuary protects one of the most vulnerable ecosystems in Magdalena Medio, the rainforest. Without a doubt, an incredible place to learn about the extraordinary biodiversity of Colombia.
Public transportation: From market street (one block from the main park) Puerto Boyacá look for the Transluzena company dispatch site towards Puerto Pinzón, departure times are: 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Estimated travel time is 2 to 3 hours. Upon arriving in Puerto Pinzón you have several options to get to the Reserve: walk for 40 minutes, take a motorcycle taxi, or sail by boat along the Ermitaño River. This option for the river depends on its flow, depending on the rainy season.
The road generally has difficult conditions, so we recommend traveling in 4×4 vehicles.
